About the artist
Welcome! My name is Kirra-Lea and I am a trade-qualified jeweller who has been manufacturing for over 10 years. My passion lies in contemporary jewellery, particularly using and manipulating nature and raw materials to create bespoke jewellery.
Workshop bits and pieces
This one day workshop is specifically design for beginners with no previous experience as well as more advanced makers who are interested in adding to their skill set.
I will guide you through the process of designing and making a stone set pendant.
There is an assortment of stones to choose from, and a range of fancy gallery wire and plain bezel wires to set the stone in. The backing plate can be personalised by saw piercing designs or embossing patterns. There will be copper and brass available to embellish your designs.
It is my aim that you will finish the workshop satisfied with your unique creation and feel inspired by the possibilities of jewellery-making.
All tools and materials are covered in the workshop fee. Sterling silver, copper and brass will be provided. The material supplied will allow students to make one stone set pendant. For bigger or more namouras projects extra metal can be purchased in class. Sterling silver will be $2.5 per gram, and stones are priced individually. Card, cash and bank transfer options.
You are welcome to bring along your own metal to use in class!

What to bring
The classes are limited to 4 students to ensure a flexible and tailored experience. All you need to bring is yourself! Snacks, tea and coffee will be provided. Please arrive dressed appropriately: closed in shoes, long pants and hair tied back. Please note that we are working with fire and metal, so it can get a little messy!
We will be creating at the beautiful Mayben Artisan Jeweller Studio, Suite 9 115/113 Main Rd, Moonah, Tasmania.
