This is a one off ring made using the sand casting technique. The faceted sapphires were placed inside the sand mould and liquid sterling silver was poured into the mould wrapping around the stone and holding it securely in place. These 7 sapphires were free to move around in the mould as the silver was poured in, allowing them to cast-in-place in interesting and unconventional orientations.
